GENEVA
— The new 2017 Jaguar F-Type SVR coupe and convertible will go on sale at Jaguar dealerships this summer, following a global debut at the 2016 Geneva Auto Show in March.
Pricing and technical specifications will be announced on February 17, Jaguar's U.S. arm said.
The new F-Type SVR, which targets the Chevrolet Corvette Stingray and Porsche 911, can accelerate to 200 mph, Jaguar said.
It is the first Jaguar to wear the SVR badge and is a product of the automaker's Special Vehicle Operations, a new division that produces high-specification, limited-edition models.
The Special Vehicle Operations cars are important to luxury shoppers because they offer more choices in the form of small-series, upgraded versions of Jaguar and Land Rover vehicles.
"The new F-Type SVR is the first series production Jaguar car to be developed by Special Vehicle Operations and benefits from everything we know about precision engineering, performance and design," said John Edwards, Jaguar Land Rover Special Operations managing director, in a statement.
Edmunds
says: The new F-Type SVR showcases the best of the British brand, something that should have great appeal for luxury buyers.
